Overview

Michigan’s Serious Emotional Disturbance Waiver provides Medicaid-funded home- and community-based services that enhance Medicaid State Plan coverage for eligible children and young adults with serious emotional disturbance. Community Mental Health Service Providers assess potential candidates and coordinate application and planning. Current state guidance describes the waiver as statewide and available through age 20 for participants who meet Medicaid, clinical, functional, living-arrangement and other waiver criteria.
